“Failed to Fetch” error message

This message means your device is unable to access the MoneyTime program. Please take the following steps to secure access. When access has been achieved, please let us know what step worked for you at support@moneytimekids.co.za


1. Try closing the page and clicking the link in your MoneyTime evite again. If that works, it was likely an internet connection issue.

2. If the above doesn’t work, attempt clicking the evite link on a different device using the school’s wireless internet. If that works, the issue is likely with your device, skip to step 8.

3. If it doesn’t work using a different device, click the evite link using your device on a different internet connection. For example, using a wired connection (ethernet), or your phone’s internet using the ‘Hotspot’ function or try from your home network.

4. If it doesn’t work using a different internet connection, skip to step 8.

5. If it does work using a different internet connection, this suggests the issue is your school’s network blocking the site. Send a MoneyTime domain whitelist request to your IT team (see the template at the bottom of this page).

6. If your school IT department has confirmed these URLs are whitelisted by them, it may be your State Education Department blocking the program. Please raise a general enquiry with them (not a website review request), send them a screenshot (including the page address) of the error message you receive when clicking through on the evite link and inform them you are having trouble accessing MoneyTime.

7. If your school’s IT department AND the Education Department say the program has been whitelisted and they do not know why the program is being blocked, continue to step 8.

8. Confirm the original device clock is up-to-date. For a Windows device, type “Adjust Date and Time” in the search bar, open the setting suggested, and click “Sync Now”. Reattempt clicking the link in your MoneyTime evite.

9. If the above doesn’t work, confirm that the browser is up-to-date on your device. For example, on Chrome: At the top right of the browser > Click More (3 vertical dots) > Click Help > Click About Google Chrome to show the page below.

If your Chrome browser is not updated, it looks like Screenshot 2 below. Click “Relaunch” to update Chrome. Check by repeating these steps to ensure you don’t see a Relaunch button anymore.

Reattempt clicking the link in your MoneyTime evite after updating your browser. If you are using another browser, search “update {name of browser}” and follow the instructions.

10. If the above doesn’t work, send the browser and the browser version to support@moneytimekids.co.za. An example is Google Chrome Version 120.0.6099.225 (Official Build) (64-bit). How to do this? Same as above. On Chrome: At the top right of the browser > Click More (3 vertical dots) > Click Help > Click About Google Chrome to show the page below. Send us a screenshot of this page.

11. Confirm there are no extensions or ad-blockers switched on in your browser. Watch the video below to toggle off your browser extensions. Reattempt clicking the link after toggling off any extensions or ad-blockers. You can toggle them back on afterwards.

12. If the above still doesn’t work, try:

Type the following into your browser: https://school_subdomain.moneytimekids.co.za/info Ensure to replace {school_subdomain} with your school’s subdomain. E.g. if your school’s URL is https://dimbulahss.eq.edu, then your school subdomain is dimbulahss, you should type https://dimbulahss.moneytimekids.co.za/info.

Refresh the page and send us a screenshot of what you see. It should look similar to the below screenshot:

MoneyTime Domain Whitelist Request Template

Dear IT Department,

(School name) would like to use the MoneyTime financial literacy program but are being denied access by our school’s network. MoneyTime politely request you wildcard whitelist: 
1. *.moneytimekids.co.za
2. https://www.moneytimekids.com

If you cannot wildcard whitelist, please whitelist these specific URLs:

1. https://schoolapi.moneytimekids.co.za
2. https://login.moneytimekids.co.za
3. https://teacherlogin.moneytimekids.co.za
4. https://{school_subdomain}.moneytimekids.co.za
